As usual, the state fails

Daily Mail - A convicted mugger ripped off his electronic security tag before he and a schoolboy murdered an innocent student in a savage attack. Joseph Booth, 18, who was being monitored after being convicted of a string of violent incidents, managed to get the tag off his ankle. Minutes later, fuelled by alcohol and cannabis, Booth and the 15-year-old beat, kicked and stamped on the victim, who was left so badly disfigured his family could not recognise him. Now they are starting life sentences after admitting murdering the 19-year old student.
You can guarantee that a life sentence is a not what you think it is, see below. The victim always get life, so does his remaining family. No parole for them, no breaks, nothing to take away the pain, just a hard, wretched life sentence.
Mr Justice Christopher Clarke said Booth, who had been drinking alcohol and smoking cannabis, had knocked Mr Khan to the ground before the 15-year-old repeatedly stamped on his head. Booth was ordered to serve at least 12 years, 60 days before he can be considered for parole. The 15-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was told he must serve at least nine years and 240 days. Mr Khan's murder was a double blow for his close-knit family. Just a year earlier, a cousin was stabbed to death in Bolton. His killer is serving 11 years for manslaughter.
The state will push the wonders of the electronic tag, don't you worry good sheeple, we have it all under control, we'll just put all these cameras to watch over you, we'll put this here electronic tag on the meanies ankles and keep an eye on their movements. Move along now sheeple, nothing to see, nothing to whine about, you'll be safe, we'll take care of justice. The solution is staring us in the face, when we refuse to accept it and insist on the state doing it, we will get neither safety nor justice.
