Spines misplaced

I posted a few days ago about the escalating crisis in Israel, she is now fighting terrorists, Hamas and Hezbollah, both backed by Iran, Syria and Lebanon, who incidentally seem to think they bear no accountability for allowing terrorists to operate on their soil with impunity. As I said in that post, many world governments were standing by Israel, but don't expect them to talk tough for long. And they have started the whining already.
The European Union today criticized Israel for using "disproportionate" force in its attacks on Lebanon following the cross-border raid by Hezbollah guerillas who captured two Israeli soldiers.

The EU also called Israel's naval blockade cutting off supply routes to Lebanon unjustified. "The European Union is greatly concerned about the disproportionate use of force by Israel in Lebanon in response to attacks by Hezbollah on Israel," according to a statement issued by Finland, which holds the EU's rotating presidency. "The presidency deplores the loss of civilian lives and the destruction of civilian infrastructure. The imposition of an air and sea blockade on Lebanon cannot be justified."
Perhaps it’s because the Israelis are well aware that the EU is not sending any delegations to whine at Hezbollah and Hamas about the Geneva conventions and treatment of the captured soldiers. Maybe the EU fat cats are living in lala land, but we earthlings are well aware that Hezbollah, would not forgo sophisticated weaponry (if they had them) for knives and slingshots.

More whinging from the usual suspects, perhaps we need to demand the Russians apologise for sending Basayev to a 'better place', without due process at The Hague. As for France, we've all seen how well their proportionate use of force served them in their very own intifadas, perhaps some of our French readers could enlighten us on the plummeting car insurance premiums since the adoption of non-mean law serving.
International calls for calm are growing, with Russia, France and the EU saying Israel's response to the capture of two soldiers was disproportionate.
Coming back to Hezbollah and their innocent expansion of vineyards.
Hezbollah has hit Israeli towns with rocket attacks and Israeli sources said the group had fired on the northern port city of Haifa. Israeli police said two rockets had fallen on a Christian area of Haifa called Stella Maris.

Hezbollah denied firing any rockets at Haifa - Israel's third largest city. There were no reports of injuries or damage. Hezbollah had said it would attack Haifa if Israeli planes bombed Beirut.

It has fired dozens of rockets into Israel in the past two days, killing at least two Israelis and injuring dozens.
Yeah I guess those Israelis are firing on themselves.
